That's not what the message really says, is it?You need to state exactly what the messages says if possible.Do you recall scheduling a chkdsk or any disk error checking operations lately? What is your system make and model? What is your XP version and Service Pack? Please provide additional information about your system.Click Start, Run and in the box enter:msinfo32Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select All, Copy and then paste the information back here. There will be some personal information (like System Name and User Name), and whatever appears to be private information to you, just delete it from the pasted information. This will minimize back and forth Q&A and eliminate guesswork. What do you think has changed since the last time thinkgs worked?Fill in the blank:My disk defragmenter worked fine until: ________________________________________.Do you now or have you ever had installed any third part disk defragmentation or disk management tools?Describe your current antivirus and anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc.Run the disk defragment tool manually and describe what happens:Click Start, Run and in the box enter:%SystemRoot%\system32\dfrg.mscThe click OK, and describe what happens (it doesn't work is not a good answer).Do you really think suggestions that begin with the words try, might or maybe are going to be helpful?I need YOUR votes and points for helpful replies and Propose as Answers. I am saving up for a pony!
